Planned Parenthood in Turmoil: Interview with Troy Newman of Operation Rescue | The Mark Harrington Show | 7-18-19

The abortion giant Planned Parenthood (PP) is in a “no Wen situation” after firing President Leanna Wen.

According to reports, Wen was fired because she wants a more aggressively pro-abortion activist as its leader as it heads into the crucial 2020 presidential election.

Her departure followed a series of negotiations that appeared to end acrimoniously on Tuesday. In a Twitter post, Dr. Wen said her fate had been decided at a “secret meeting,” which the organization disputed.

She later issued a statement saying she was “leaving because the new board chairs and I have philosophical differences over the direction and future of Planned Parenthood.”

She believed “the best way to protect abortion care is to be clear that it is not a political issue but a health care one, and that we can expand support for reproductive rights.”

“It’s probably no coincidence that Wen was fired the day after the Trump Administration’s Protect Life Rule went into effect after the Ninth Circuit delivered Planned Parenthood a huge defeat,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “It is obvious that Planned Parenthood’s trope about abortion being only three percent of their so-called healthcare services was a smokescreen, The Board just proved that Planned Parenthood is about abortion. Period.”
