Reuben Franco, President of the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, gets the rare privilege (and pleasure) to interview the legendary jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. Including how he fled his childhood home in Communist Cuba, how he met and was helped by the great Dizzy Gillespie and the many Grammy Awards he's won thru the years, starting with Irakere (an influential jazz group that brought Afro-Cuban music to the US, winning a Grammy Award for Best Latin Recording in 1980).
All in preparation for his rare, upcoming appearance here in Orange County Feb. 16 and 17 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra as part of their new Pop Series LATIN FIRE.
