"What shall I do to inherit eternal life," an expert in Old Testament law asked Jesus to test Him. When Jesus directed him back to the law and to love for God and love for neighbor as the fulfillment of the law, the lawyer asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" The point of Jesus' telling of the Parable of the Good Samaritan may surprise you, but it reveals that none of us loves God or our neighbor as the law requires, and our only hope is in Jesus, our Savior.
