Bio:
Through her soul stirring performances and life-transforming compositions, singer-songwriter-actress Latice Crawford has become a favorite in the inspirational music & entertainment community. Blessed with a bold, powerful voice that has drawn comparisons to Whitney Houston and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Crawford's cadre of fans have come to know that the unique musical experience the Bronx, New York native brings stems from a testimony of triumphs and struggles, which she passionately shares in her music.
Raised the daughter of a preacher, Crawford spent much of her early life heavily involved in the church, serving as choir director and lead vocalist for local ensembles. These experiences provided the perfect training ground for the vocal powerhouse to hone her signature sound and gripping delivery of God's message through song.
Crawford gained national notoriety during her breakout performances on Season 2 of BET's ‘Sunday Best’, where she achieved second runner up. Following the TV series, she released her self-titled debut album in 2014, which brought the inspiring hit "There". In 2016, Crawford released her sophomore project, 'Diary of A Church Girl'. The critically acclaimed EP garnered Crawford her first Stellar Award nomination, a second Billboard charting album, and brought listeners a deep look into Crawford’s personal relationship with God through songs such as "Author" and “Choose Me". Selfpenned and nakedly autobiographical, the project resonates with authenticity in ways that transcend traditional gospel song story lines.
Crawford's connection with her audience and commitment to ministry extends well beyond that of a traditional recording artist". Crawford recently starred in the 15th anniversary run of the hit musical stage play Crowns. Audiences and critics lauded her performance as "soul-stirring" and "transcendent". Additionally, Crawford is also a contributor to the Huffington Post and Essence, writing on a range of topics to include mental wellness, parenting, race relations, and self-care.
Crawford states, “It is my hope that the story God has given me brings listeners on a relatable journey through the human experience and the power of going through it all with Christ. I want them to know that my story is our story, and that there is a loving God that cares about every aspect of our lives."
