WELCOME HEART: Living a Legacy Life
Religion & Spirituality:Christianity
Celebrate the 100th episode of Make it Count: Living a Legacy Life with me today as we hear the story of Joni, a woman who didn't waste her suffering. All for God's glory.
Joni Earackson Tada dove into the Chesapeake Bay in 1969 and broke her neck. For the last 55 years she's lived in a wheelchair, sharing her story of how God met her there and continues to draw her closer to Himself.
"My response to my suffering was not resigning myself to it, woefully yielding to submerged rebellion. Instead, I want to embrace God in this no good, very bad trial and I'm going to find You in it."--Joni
A bestselling author, accomplished artist (with a brush in her mouth), and CEO of her worldwide ministry, Joni and Friends, which advocates and aids those with disabilities and their families.
If you've never read her first book, JONI, I encourage you to begin there. I asked Joni what her favorite book was that she wrote and she replied, "The God I Love" - a book for families. We will be giving away a copy. Comment below or on instagram or FB to be entered in the drawing. But while waiting, look over her website, Joniandfriends.org and see where God may want you to get involved.
I reached out to Joni on her website to see if I could interview her with the preamble: "My claim to fame is that I'm Hyatt Moore's sister." That seemed to work as they wrote me back the next day. They love Hyatt over at Joni and Friends because he's painted for them. One, a book jacket for a course for understanding and ministering to those with disabilities. And, another that depicts the international reach of their organization and commonality of folks with disabilities.
"Wheel Chair Praising"

Joni is giving away 3 copies of her favorite book, THE GOD I LOVE.
