Guest: Whitney Buettner - Journeyman Carpenter and Entrepreneur
This week’s guest found her career by chance when she graduated college and needed to find a job. Over a decade later, she hasn’t looked back. Whitney Buettner, a proud Metis woman, says of the trades “It’s rewarding. It’s extremely challenging. Every day is a blank slate.” She earned her Red AND Blue Seal Tickets in Carpentry in 2017 and has recently ventured into entrepreneurship and started her own company - Grace & Grit Construction.
A huge supporter of women in the trades, Whitney has also recently partnered up with another trades woman to create the group Flatland Sister to connect other tradeswomen in her area together. She hopes to encourage others to say yes to the things that scare you!
This is an episode of With Her Two Hands you don’t want to miss!
