He spent the next five years serving in key field sales and marketing roles with the Diagnostics Division of Abbott Laboratories, during which time this division quickly rose to become a pre-eminent force in the development of infectious disease and cancer diagnostic products, including the development and implementation of the first diagnostic test for HIV.
