Steve Cooper talks with musician/director Jerry Casale. Jerry's music career spans more than 40 years. He came to prominence in the late 1970s as co-founder, co-lead vocalist, and bass player of the band Devo, which released a Top 20 hit in 1980 with the single Whip It. He is the main lyricist and one of the main composers of Devo's music and directed most of Devo's music videos. He also has a solo project under the name of Jihad Jerry & the Evildoers, has directed music videos by The Cars, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Silverchair and many others and has directed several television commercials, including ads for Diet Coke and Honda Scooters featuring Devo, as well as for Coco's restaurants and Miller Lite.
