In his time with DNA, Mr. Ketchel managed operational growth from startup to $12 million in annual sales achieved in year 2 after the companies launch. Mr. Ketchel previously served as a Director for American Capitol Group, LLC. American Capitol Group is a full service Washington, DC based government relations and federal affairs firm which represents over 60 clients in the health care and pharmaceutical industries. In his capacity with the firm, Mr. Ketchel specialized in federal policy issues covering health care, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to joining American Capitol Group, Mr. Ketchel served as Director of Government Relations for Elanex Pharma Group International. In his tenure with Elanex, he was responsible for strategic planning and implementation of Elanex’s government affairs and sales strategy in the United States and Europe. In addition, Mr. Ketchel served as a member of the mergers and acquisition team for Elanex. Elanex Pharma Group was acquired by Baxter Health Care International in 2001. Before joining the private sector, Mr. Ketchel began his career as an aide to United States Senator Bill Frist. Mr. Ketchel served as an aide for the Senator on his Washington, DC staff.
In 2002, Mr. Ketchel was nominated by then Governor Don Sundquist to serve on the Governor’s Task Force on Biotechnology. While on the task force, he acted as an advisor to the state of Tennessee Department of Economic Development on issues involving the Biotech industry. During his tenure in an advisory role, Mr. Ketchel assisted in drafting the Biotechnology Task Force report to advise the State on methods to grow the its biotech sector.
Later in 2002, Mr. Ketchel served as the Washington DC Liaison to U.S. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn’s congressional campaign. In his role with campaign, he oversaw and managed the Congresswoman’s DC steering committee and fundraising efforts. Aside from his responsibilities in Washington, Mr. Ketchel served as a political advisor and consultant to campaign. The campaign district included fourteen counties stretching from Nashville to Memphis.
