This month at the YouSchool we’re exploring the theme: THE EXPERIENCE OF YOU. We’re curious about what it’s like to be your unique self, an experience that no one else can share or genuinely understand but which makes up who you are in this world.
We want to encourage people to reflect on the experience they have in life, to grow more deeply in awareness of what it’s like to be alive in their skin, their personality, their family, their memories, their reactions, and their story. The punchline is to encourage people to embrace the unique way they operate and experience the world and to experience more peace and joy in their lives. We want to guide people to recognize the unique perspective and gift they have to bring to this world the more they choose to embrace their true identity.
A few questions to get you started on the journey:
— What makes me different or distinct from my siblings?
— What particular ways do I respond to daily challenges, stress, or problems?
— What do I find to be truly good, beautiful, or wonderful?
— What tapes play in my head as I go through the day?
— What recurring phrases do I use to express my surprise to the world?
Pay attention this week as you go to work, run errands, engage with friends or neighbors, and have a few quiet moments in traffic or before you drift off to sleep. What’s unique about who you are and how you operate?
