The US sharemarket experienced yet another extremely volatile session. The Dow Jones eased by 0.25%, the S&P 500 was flat and the Nasdaq edged higher. At one stage the Dow was up 1.5% at its best and down 0.8% at its worst. US-China trade talks have resumed which was encouraging while President Trump threatened to shutdown the government if Democrats failed to support funding of the wall with Mexico.
