Fine Gael's five MEPs are calling for an EU-wide embargo on imports of Russian coal, oil and gas as soon as possible.
The European Commission is now proposing a ban on imports of coal. But so far they haven’t called for an embargo on oil and gas supplies from Russia.
This morning the Commission’s foreign policy chief told the European Parliament that Europe is spending a staggering one billion euro a day (€1bn) on Russian energy supplies.
