The name was Steve Strong, but in the shadowy world of the New York underworld, he got to be known as "That Strong Guy" and so it stuck. Not that they're wrong, since a World War tends to toughen up even the most cautious. In the case of Steve Strong, it was the edge that he got pushed over, and it got him ready for the world of the Private Investigator. He works alone, in the Mike Hammer mode, but has the support of his secretary Sandra. Pal Captain Jim Daley of Homicide gets him out of the kind of jams that clipped dialogue and a stiff uppercut won't fix.
