Portia leads the Wood Legal Group a woman-owned and operated law firm specializing in estate planning, probate and elder law that she runs with her mother and law partner Robin Wood. Portia Wood is a member of the California State Bar, the Maryland State Bar, the American Bar Association, the California Association of Black Lawyers and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. She is also a frequent speaker at legacy wealth planning seminars. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from University of Maryland in 2011 where she served as president of her class. Portia also earned a Master of Law and Letters from the Pepperdine University School of Law. She was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Pan African Studies from California State University, Northridge. She is committed to closing America's wealth gap for marginalized communities.
