SPC 059: Into the Dreamscape with Neil Gaiman's Sandman!
In 1989, Neil Gaiman created an intellectual dreamscape with the launch of his Sandman series by DC. Somewhat taking place in the DC universe (characters are often referenced), it was eventually separated and moved to the Vertigo line, the home of the dark and macabre. The series received critical acclaim, and for many was the first graphic novel taken seriously in the literary sense. Gaiman is a skilled, imaginative writer, and the Sandman books often come across more as “books that happen to have pictures” more so than “picture books.” Marc leads Remso into the world of Dream, as they break down the first volume of one of the most critically acclaimed comic books of all time.
