The Jets dropped their season opener by a score of 19-14 against the Carolina Panthers but the news wasn't all bad.
Rookie QB Zach Wilson struggled early on but despite facing consistent heavy pressure managed to string together a couple of scoring drives while completing 66% of his passes after a 2-10 start. Wilson showed many of the traits that made him the second overall pick in the draft and Jets fans have plenty of reason for optimism. We'll cover the atrocious play of the O-line but also the surprisingly good play of the young cornerbacks.
Will Bill Belichick and the Patriots look to mimic what the Panthers did on offense and work the short pass game to their running backs? If so, the Jets may have already made a move in free agency to counter it.
