Ep 27 – The Witch, the Grave, the Fire, and the Chain: The Witch of Yazoo

Why did Yazoo City, Mississippi burn down in 1904? Locals say it was because of a witch's curse — and with good reason! According to legend, a sheriff chased the witch into quicksand, where she told him she would burn Yazoo City in twenty years. When she was buried, they placed a chain link fence around her grave to prevent her from completing the curse. But after the fire, the chains were broken.
