Sarah Moloney - The Realities of Living with Endometriosis - #29
Sarah Moloney is a personal trainer and coach who’s currently working on her Masters in Clinical Nutrition, but she’s also someone who suffers with the chronic disease known as endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a condition that causes a growth of fibrous tissue, similar to that found in the uterus, around many of the organs, leading to a huge range of symptoms such as chronic pain, fatigue, excessive bleeding and a plethora of other concerns that can, in many cases, completely alter your lifestyle and general quality of life. Sarah shares her own story in this episode, and explains to me what exactly this disease is, how it can present, the various levels of treatment (along with the varying levels of efficacy that go with those treatments), how it affects a huge number of people around the globe, and how it is still so poorly understood and managed, even in the world of modern medicine.
The most striking element of this episode is just how much a chronic disease like this, which is not technically classed as a ‘fatal’ condition, can take from your body, your relationships and your life.
Sarah is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to not just endometriosis, but health and wellness in general, and this is a very insightful chat about the medical system, self empowerment, education, suffering, human nature, and so much more.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us Sarah.
