The ancient Buddhist prayer for Loving Kindness is one of the most profound and beautiful prayers we can use for meditation. Here we use it to experiment with extending loving kindness to not only our loved ones and ourselves but also to those to whom we might resist sending our prayers for happiness, joy and release from suffering! But the magic of extending these feelings of compassion and understanding to those we don't agree with or who have irked us is seriously powerful and what the world needs more of.
I try to keep my meditations around 10 minutes but this meditation would be more effective if you take more time with it. Once you have done it here with me, please try it on your own, taking your time to really feel into all the sensations and feelings that you have in your heart chakra as you go through each section. Ideally allow yourself half an hour to really explore the meditation.
