On this episode of The Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Pat from Anti-Flag at Riot Fest! Pat expresses just how good it is to be back playing live music and connecting with people again. Pat states that the real joy of being an artist is being able to perform for people and talk to people who get you and your music. Pat speaks to us about what activities he got up to during lockdown to keep some sanity and explains how he and the band began resurrecting some old projects, they had weekly online meetings, they carried out a lot of charity work and they tried to stay connected with people online. Pipeman and Pat also talk about science and politics and the mayhem in Florida. Pat mentions how America feels like the same shit show it always has and how we still have all our old problems but how the American system is flawed so it’s almost impossible for change to occur. Pipeman and Pat agree that we need younger people who represent the present and the future, with brand new ideas to get into presidency. Pat exclaims how amazing it is to see the trans community and the LGBTQ community at the shows and states how he is so grateful and happy that they were a band around long enough to see the transition from those communities being shunned from this culture to them feeling they’re able to freely express themselves at the shows. Pat mentions how Anti-flags’ plans for the rest of the year is to continue playing shows and hope that everything stays open, work on some new records and do some touring! You can find the band on Instagram @antiflag
