"Keep Kids Off The Street" is a project by photographer Eddie Vargas focused on promoting skateboarding culture in and around the city of Boston. Some major themes of his work include personal development, friendship, family, and reducing the stigma around skateboarding as it relates to youth development. Vargas also helps host an annual skate camp for kids with many other members of his community. He is currently selling T shirts to fund the camp and to get skateboards into the hands of kids that may not have had access to them before.
Listen to episode for an in depth discussion and deep dive into Vargas' mission, aesthetics, and reasons why he does what he does.
