Enkindle 74 – 10.10.21 – Everything is Not Enough

In this reflection for the Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher relates the Gospel with the story of St. Francis, a man who gave up everything to follow Jesus completely.
St. Francis started to feel like even though he had everything, everything was not enough. He was still wanting something, looking for something, hungry for something. God had made Francis for more than just wealth or popularity or success or parties. God had made Francis for something way more wonderful.
So everything else he had, even all stacked up and added together, was not enough. Francis was made to live in a relationship with God to follow Jesus all of his earthly life so that he could spend his eternal life with him in heaven. So Francis gave up literally everything so that he could follow Jesus more completely
