1.0 INTRODUCTION TO THE BUDDHA'S GRADUAL INSTRUCTIONS TO LAY PEOPLE (YOUTH DHAMMA SESSION)
Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
This is the introductory talk for a new series, specifically for our younger audience, looking into Buddha's Gradual Instructions (anupubbiṁ kathaṁ) for lay people.
The question commonly asked by audiences, both young or older, is why did the Buddha give these specific gradual instructions or teachings to lay people? And what are those teachings in more detail?
In this brief introductory talk we look at what the Buddha means by gradual instructions, the objectives in teaching lay people in this way, the important of this sequential process, and what to expect in this Youth Dhamma Series.
In future sessions we will go step-by-step, following the Buddha's instructions and look at:
