On the 25th of March 1990, two men in a boat on the River Cam in Cambridgeshire spotted a black plastic bag floating down the river. They went to get a closer look and found the horrifying sight of a decomposing male body inside. Dental records identified the victim as 44 year old Ian Murray Erskine who had been missing from his Notting Hill home since the previous December.
The investigation would uncover a complicated series of events after his disappearance and the police would be left wondering what connection this had to his murder.
