To kick off the month of October, Katie and Liz dive right into one of the spookiest and craziest events in New England history... The Salem Witch Trials. This tragic cascade of injustice all starts in early 1692, when two young girls begin to show signs of "bewitchment", eventually leading to a state-wide panic of the supernatural. With everyone pointing fingers at even the slightest flaw, more than 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft, ultimately leading to absurd convictions and the death of 25 people. Join True Crime New England this week for a trip to Salem, Massachusetts, and learn a little bit about the crazy series of events that continues to be talked about to this day, over 320 years later.
