Friday the 13th (1980)

“His name was Jason…and today is his birthday.” What can be said about the 1980 proto slasher that hasn’t already been said a thousand times before? Well, other than the 2009 remake should simply slip into the ether, never to be heard from again, and that to give Corey Feldman even the slightest hope that he’ll be included in any future incarnations of the franchise would be a huge mistake indeed. Other than that, this commentary has me rambling on about my childhood fandom of the series, swearing a solemn vow that I won’t purchase the Scream Factory boxed set (which I ultimately did), and calling Adrienne King’s character by the wrong name about a hundred times.
