2.23 - From Olympic despair to London Marathon glory with Charlotte Purdue
In this edition, we have something slightly different. We have a normal intro and outro where I jog around Epping Forest but the main body of this podcast is a zoom chat with Charlotte Purdue, fresh(ish) from running 2.23 at the recent London Marathon, the fastest time by any British woman in 12 years.
The media aficionados among you may find the continuity link from jogging to zoom to jogging again troublingly rustic, but remember this podcast is all about substance over style and in this instance the substance is all about Resilience. Charlotte talks through her story of controversially not being selected for the Olympics in March to running 2h 23 in the London Marathon in October focussing on how she felt at various stages of the journey, what she did and what she has learned about herself in the process while I often clumsily attempt to put the resilience spin on it.
I hope you enjoy it
Thanks for listening
