We interview Farah Omar Nur Secretary General of Federations of Somali Journalists (FESOJ), about whose it is to take responsibility for respecting and protecting media professionals’ work in Somalia, the specific measures taken to end impunity for media workers. He also talks about the importance of journalists to work without fear and favour during election period.
We also interview Maryan Saylac, Director of Somali Media Women Association, about the higher risk women journalists face in Somalia and what needs to be done to ensure Somali women journalists can work in a conducive, safe environment.
