3.5 HOW CAN WE LIVE WITH EASE? (YOUTH DHAMMA SESSION)
Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
Another session to accompany the second module in the Youth Dhamma Gradual Teachings series looking into Buddha's Gradual Instructions to Lay People on VIRTUE (sīlakathaṁ)
In this additional episode, we look at the question of HOW WE CAN LIVE WITH EASE (or comfort)? What we learn from the Buddha's teachings to lay people and the monastic Sangha, is the importance placed on virtue or moral agreements. They help to create fondness, kindness and respect towards each other and support harmony, inclusion, non-dispute and unity in how we live with each other. This in turn means we live with more trust, and less fear and hatred.
The Buddha's words inspire us to empower ourselves to create a more easeful or comfortable life established on virtue - that can spread to those around us, people we live with, study with, work with and more.
What would the world be like if we all lived by the five precepts?
What would the world be like if we were more generous and less stingy?
Some of the suttas that are mentioned directly or indirectly in this session:
