A time cap is a useful tool only in the event things have gone wrong through the course of your class.
Between the Whiteboard Brief and "3..2...1...GO," there are numerous opportunities for you as a coach to ensure that your athletes understand the intent of a workout. To ensure loading and rep scheme are appropriate based upon the athlete so the need for a time cap is rendered irrelevant.
Time caps are not beneficial for the your athletes. They are an emergency procedure that you as a coach enact if your timeline goes awry because you failed to communicate appropriately with your athletes.
