On the night of October 22nd, 1989, three boys biked to a nearby convenience store to rent the movie Major League in the town of St. Joseph, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. The boys were Jacob Wetterling, 11, his little brother Trevor, 10 and a friend, Aaron Larson, also 11. Major League was rented out so they grabbed The Naked Gun instead and stocked up on candy. But as they were biking home, the unthinkable happened. The boys were stopped by a masked gunmen who made them lie on the ground and recite their ages before letting Aaron and Trevor go. He ordered Jacob into his car and the little boy was never seen or heard from again. What followed was a mystery that would not be solved until 27 years later. Little Jacob Wetterling's kidnapping would become one of the most infamous of all time and would forever challenge the concept of children's safety in small and tight-knit communities.
