ON THE SPIRITUAL PATH WHY DO FRIENDS AND FAMILY FALL AWAY? - Dhamma Q&A
Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
This question was asked during the the FULL DHAMMA SESSION conducted on ILL POYA (18 November 2021) via zoom on "WHY IT'S DIFFICULT TO RENUNCIATE THE WORLD", how to contemplate the Hāliddikāni Sutta (SN 22.3).
The question:
"As a muni (sage) your mind is already content. With that contented mind you don't incline towards entertaining anyone or seeking out entertainment from anyone. This is natural progress on the spiritual path. As a result, a lot of family and friends fall away. Over time more and more. How do you explain this process and is there a way to understand it?"
Note - During the Dhamma session, we spoke about the qualities of a sage, the different kinds of sages (muni) and their behaviour being very upright in body, speech and mind.
Bohoma pin to the person who asked this question.
