Star Wars: Comics In Canon - Ep 78: Tarkin’s Legacy & Operation Starlight (Star Wars [2020] #7-12)

THE LEGACY OF TARKIN EMERGES! This week Mike continues the 2020 run of Star Wars comics with the full second volume; Operation Starlight, set shortly after the end of Empire Strikes Back! As well as introducing Commander Zahra and Tarkin’s Will, these issues show the rebellion developing a new way to communicate due to the Empire cracking their code, with Lobot being invaluable and a flashback about Han and Poe’s parents! Mike also gives additional info on Starlight Squadron, Eriadu, The Redemption (ship), Veermoks and more!

This story is set after Empire Strikes Back (& after the first run of the Star Wars, but before the War Of the Bounty Hunters crossover). The writer for these comics is Charles Soule, Ramon Rosanas was the artist for issues 7, 8 & 12, with Jan Bazaldua as artist for issues 9, 10 & 11 and Rachelle Rosenberg was colour artist for all issues. Issue 7 was released October 2020, Issue 12 was released March 2021 and the trade paperback collection (of issues 7-11) was released April 2021.
