Tales from the Crypt: Only Skin Deep (1994)

The Blind Rage Podcast is back with another Commentary from the Crypt! Two episodes into the sixth season of HBO’s groundbreaking horror series and it’s quite clear that it’s all downhill from here. While there are some creepy visuals and decent performances, “Only Skin Deep” is yet another repackaged premise. I mean, even the title is remarkably similar to the Lea Thompson episode, “Only Sin Deep.” It all begins when Carl shows up uninvited to a Halloween party to confront a woman who is trying desperately to erase him from her life—and for good reason. In the kitchen, he meets a seductive stranger dressed as a “body bag.” They hit it off and she invites him home for a little hate-fucking. After, she offers him a drink and…well, I’m sure you can guess where things go from there.
