"Do nothing, and rest afterward.” - Harry Dean Stanton
In this episode, we are exploring rest, relaxation, restoration, and recreation.
Before we dive into any of it, we ask ourselves the burning question, "Are we allowed to rest?" How has an aggressive hustle and grind culture impacted our cycles of self-care and self-regulation? How do our experiences with imposter syndrome or as adult children of alcoholics distort our perception about the availability of rest? Do we have to monetize every passion? Can we just play, even as adults?
Love Letters and Mixtapes is a weekly podcast with new episodes available every Monday at 9 am EST. Together, we'll discuss everything from mental health, emotional health, spirituality, trauma, ptsd, sobriety, recovery, grief, relationships, family dynamics, communication strategies, coping skills, and all aspects of health and wellness. The inspiration for the podcast was a desire to write, share, and talk about things that our younger selves needed to hear, whether that was 30 years ago, 3 years ago, or yesterday. Together we can remix all the tapes and unconscious programming we have that usually trigger us into reactivity and find a new perspective that allows us to live life on life's terms with a measure of emotional sobriety.
