In this interview the Pipeman interviews the band As You Were (AYW). Pipeman saw them at Welcome to Rockville. All band members are active army. The army band has been a part of the army since inception. All military have bands. As You Were does a lot of local and volunteer events. Pipeman’s son is in the army as well. A lot of people are still shocked the army has a band. Welcome to Rockville was the biggest show they’ve played. The coolest part of Welcome to Rockville is that they were the first concert for many young kids, said Austin. As You Were played everyday at Welcome to Rockville unlike other bands who play one day. Pipeman camped at Welcome to Rockville and saw every show from As You Were. As You Were has 2 albums worth of music out now. They are on all social media platforms. The Army has many different jobs within the army. As you Were will be playing IHeart event in Dallas and Minneapolis.
As You Were is a rock band from the United States Army Recruiting
Command. As You Were has recorded and toured the country showing music fans that the Army has
much more to offer than they might think. As You Were averages over 150 days a year on the road
performing at clubs, theaters, high schools, colleges, sporting events, national conventions, and at
major music festivals.
The band and the songs they perform tells the
Army story through the experience of music, opening the eyes of potential future Soldiers to
unexpected ways to serve their country.
