052 - Supported living tenancies and the law with Sue Baxter
In this episode Sue Baxter talks about Supported Housing and the Law, she argues that current occupancy agreements are not a good fit for many supported housing tenants and talks about considerations providers need to think about when setting up tenancy arrangements in supported living.
Sue Baxter is a leading housing professional with over 30 years’ experience in the supported and social housing sector. Her experience ranges from managing specialist provision including domestic abuse and complex needs to working for large Registered Providers. Currently she works for L'Arche a National Learning Disability Charity alongside providing training and consultancy for housing associations, local authorities and voluntary organisations. Sue is an advocate for customer voice most recently working alongside ‘experts by experience’ producing European-wide housing and support training materials. Other publications include Supported Housing and the Law 2021 2nd Edition publications and ‘Journeys to Home’ improving the accommodation prospects of young people leaving care.
