In today’s episode we find out more about the work done by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in response to ongoing severe drought conditions across Somalia.
We interview Ian Ridley, UN OCHA Head Office, about how the UN is responding to the dire humanitarian conditions compounded by drought that is affecting 57 districts across the country as well as long term solutions to alleviate the negative impact of drought on communities whose livelihoods have been disrupted.
We also interview Ahmed Abukar Ahmed, Director General of Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Somalia, about the recently declared humanitarian emergency in Somalia and the areas being prioritized in response to drought emergency.
