EP193: Jason Poling & The Multiplying META Church
So, what you’re telling me is you met some people in virtual reality and now you want to fly across the country and meet them in person? What are you in, some kind of cult?
Real live quote from the mother of one of our guests here. Nicole the Angel started attending Cornerstone VR, a virtual reality campus of Cornerstone Yuba City. Cornerstone Yuba City is a small church in NorCal, maybe about 200 attend there physically. One of the unique parts of Cornerstone is they consider their virtual reality campus part of their physical church, even to the point of inviting the VR attenders to come join them physically for a “church reunion” of sorts. Forever Family, they called it, was the first time the Virtual Reality attenders met each other much less met the Physical Church attenders.
What happens when physical people and metaverse people connect in San Francisco? We’ll talk about it on the podcast. And truthfully, as fun as that is, that’s nowhere near as interesting as the part of the conversation where we talk about how discipleship in the metaverse is working to empower missionaries in the physical and in the meta worlds.
