Being Left In The Dark: Reaping Blessings After Suffering - Journey Free Podcast
Sometimes we expect things in life to go a certain way for us and then when they don’t, we can do one or two things: be in a space where we are mad at the person/the world for not showing up in the way in which we’d hoped OR we can transmute that energy (use it for a greater purpose that truly serves you). The blessings that come to you may be the result of suffering. Some people who have suffered for so long are now reaping the benefits of a good life (this is a good thing). Being able to speak out and set boundaries takes a lot of courage. At times, we have to love people from a distance who gaslights us for their own emotional fulfillment.
Black content creators/influencers have an imposed stigma to be the token, white-washed and palatable mold in order to be presentable enough for brands. Marjanilane made a Instagram post about, “Being Left In The Dark,” the things they don’t tell you about being a content creator. “With the rise and accessibility of social media it has been easier for Black creators to find traction in popular social media culture. Unfortunately, these spaces are not Black-friendly for influencers, creators, and brand owners because we are left out of the loop in education and access. Between the lack of knowledge on how to interact with a company to deliberate low offers due to our race, we are at a disadvantage. Black influencers need to be aware of the fact some companies are going to want you to ‘put on a face’ for their product. Of course, right? However for us, this face will typically mimic code switching and even toy at being ‘palatable’ Black. Take your time to research the company’s prior influencer partnerships, content and general representation of POC. If it it smells like it is pandering to their idea of diversity - it probably is. All money is not good money.”
When you start to change your mindset, environment there are things about yourself that evolves with you. Unfortunately, you may not be able to bring everyone with you. This may feel like a heavy burden when those around you are not elevating with you. It is important to have a secure sense of self and embrace your journey, knowing that you cannot change the negative stigmas about being out of touch nor can you control people who choose to project their fears/unfulfilled dreams/judgements/opinions on you. What you can control is the message that you bring and ensuring you are living your soul mission and life purpose.
It is time for us to step into our life force, God energy. We can have that spark and joy that we were born with BEFORE our human conditioning. Allow your light to shine through that makes others want to be deeper, tune in more, present etc. You will reap the rewards for staying true to yourself.
What is it that truly matters? Where is it that my focus shall truly lie?
