It's Good To See You | Eye Health, Vision Care & More
Health & Fitness:Medicine
Taking vacation when you are a small business owner can be challenging. Not only do you have to worry about finances and operations of a private practice when no income is being generated, but also ensuring that your patients are being well cared for in your absence. Host, Dr. Rupa Wong, discusses how you CAN take vacation even as a solo practice owner and the tips and strategies to do so.
In this episode I review:
1. Know your numbers - Have a realistic idea of the income you will lose by taking vacation during certain months and plan accordingly, either by decreasing staff or adding extra clinic days.
2. Prepare by creating protocols for all foreseeable issues so staff know how to handle problems that will arise.
3. Establish communication details with your office - which methods and frequency
4. Trust in your team to do what you have trained them to do.
5. Create boundaries - Set time restrictions for yourself for how often you will check in.
