Episode 103 Alan Zerbe- A three and a half year journey with life changing results. Losing over 100 pounds (48Kg) along the way.
Alan Zerbe lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania which is about 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 70 miles West of New York City. He just turned 57 is Married and has three grown daughters ages 26 and twins who just turned 24. He currently works as an Art Director in marketing for a University.
As a kid he was often described as “skinny.” And always struggled to gain weight at 17 he was 6'1" about 175 lbs. (or 79 Kilos). During his 20, 30's, 40's and 50’s he kept gaining until he reached his highest recorded weight of 294 lbs. (or 133 Kilos) on his 6'2" frame.
His fasting journey began in May of 2018 and he has not stopped the past three and half years. It has been an amazing journey of learning and experimenting. It all started with him reading Jason Fung’s book The Obesity Code and was interested in learning if his weight issues could be controlled with fasting. While his path has been far from perfect, he battles everyday doing the best fasting work he can do that day! He has gotten as low as 189 lbs. or (86 Kilos). He is working hard at the maintenance phase with a goal of staying between 195 and 205 lbs.
He loves the lifestyle and believes it to be life changing in more ways than his exterior image might reflect. Deep inside he knows he has become a much better version of himself.
