A New Voice of Freedom
Our government has lost its way. When the highest officer in the land proclaims—“This is the source of our confidence—the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.”—then we know our leaders have lost their way and led us down the wrong road. Government has become too intrusive in our lives. It reaches too deep into our pockets. Some of our leaders have taken it upon themselves to tell us how we should feel, what we should think, what we should feel guilty about, how we should run our lives, what is good and what is bad. Some would even dictate how much soda we may drink. California is outlawing the sale of fur clothes.
They run us into debt too astronomically high to imagine, and yet preach economy. They waste our resources funding governments whose entire desire is to destroy democracy, yet they curtail how we light our homes or fuel our cars. They have made charity loathsome, sacrifice an obligation, and beggars out of us all.
Let me here raise my voice for a new kind of call. Let me raise a new voice of freedom. Now is not the time for revolution. The time for revolution is over. I am sick to death of revolution. For half a century all I have seen in this country is demonstrations against traditions and a call for change. It has become a social obligation to demonstrate against everything. We suffer from a national sickness. Our youth have been taught that all change is noble until finally we have elected officials whose entire slogan was change. The word change has become so ingrained that we do not require politicians to define what they mean. It is automatically assumed that change means a better life. We have become so accustomed to thinking that old traditions are evil, we vote agents of change into the highest office in the land without even knowing their politics, heritage, ideology, or character. We have been unaware that change meant the destruction of democracy in exchange for socialism. Our reward? —we are now drowning in 23 trillion dollars of debt, we are being overrun by illegal immigrants, we are funding terrorists, we are tearing down democracy, we are attacking religion, we are creating drones and breeding invalids, we are redistributing wealth, we are guaranteeing entitlements, we are empowering the few against the many, we are promoting racism, we are trampling on the law, we are changing the Constitution, we are eroding rights, we are succumbing to tribalism, we are endangering the sanctity and integrity of the voting process; therefore, this country is in worse shape than it has ever been in its history.
The time for change is over. Now is the time for restoration. Neither party today represents Old America. It is no longer democrats versus republicans. Those words have lost their meaning. Everything has so subtlety shifted that we missed what has really happened. Today it is liberal versus extremism. Presidential candidates on the extreme left are self-declared socialists. The so-called conservatives are giving us socialism as pabulum is given to babies, sweetened with the saccharin of euphemism and cloyed with the sugar of deceit. Liberalism is nothing but socialism on a sliding scale. The greater liberal party, composed of both democrats and republicans, is simply giving us a choice between socialism and communism or totalitarianism. They stand only for security in office and an increase in personal power. They have no clue what democracy or a republican form of government means. Self-reliance has become an ugly word and personal wealth has become evil. The lessor liberal party, euphemistically called conservatives, is simply giving us a choice between democracy and socialism. Republicanism is dead.
