On today's Satellite Sisters, Julie, Liz, Sheila and Monica start with announcements of this week's #satsistersYTB contest winners and the highlights of the 'You're The Best" kick-off speech in Pasadena this week for Pasadena Magazine. It was a fun shakedown cruise for the book toyr that launches next Friday night October 30 at Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn, New York. For the complete calendar of "You're The Best", go to the Events page at www.satellitesisters.com.
In the news, SNL did a great send-up of the Democratic Debate last night with the role of Bernie Sanders played by Larry David. Perfect comedy casting! We'll never "Feel the Bern" the same way again. Monica spent last weekend at the Bend Film Festival. She has recommendation for some films you are going to want to watch out for including a documentary called Breaking A Monster, about a kids heavy metal band from Brooklyn. It all happens in Brooklyn, doesn't it? Liz also needs some film recommendations and has the sisters vote on The Martian vs. Steve Jobs.
Julie brings us a fascinating story about the Zappos management philosophy and their self-management approach. Some sisters are all for it. Some are skeptical. What do you think? Meanwhile, she has launched a new tutoring business so she can engage in a little more of her own self-management. For more information about her new business, you can check here. She's also got a semi-successful flu shot situation to share.
Need a little sensory deprivation? Julie has a recommendation about some new float spas in Texas. We urge her to test itself out this week and report back on her findings.
We close with Liz's favorite headline of the week. There are kangaroos involved. Urban kangaroos. Check it out.
