Mr. Dan Millman is a former world champion athlete, author, university coach, martial arts instructor, and college professor.
To me, I was an athlete so I appreciated sports. In sports, you could lose a point or lose a match. In Martial Arts, it comes from a more sincere lineage. Where before it was a sport, it was about life and death. So, no martial artist could simply focus on physical skill alone.
For a person who doesn’t like to hit and be hit, boxing wasn’t the thing for him. Mr. Dan Dillman found Judo growing up for the same reason that many of us went into Martial Arts, bullies. Mr. Dillman, exposed to eastern and Japanese thought early in his life, later on, developed the Way of the Peaceful Warrior which is the central theme of his books. Aside from Judo, Mr. Dillman trained with Karate, Aikido, and other self-defense arts as well.
In this episode, Mr. Dan Dillman talks about the way of the peaceful warrior and his journey as a martial artist. Listen and join the conversation!
