Thousands of air passengers are still trying to get home after the holidays, amid major covid and weather delays. A winter storm is pushing through Washington, D.C. right now, forcing more flight cancellations today. This follows a storm that dumped half a foot of snow on Chicago and other parts of the Midwest over the weekend. Millions of children return to school this morning, in the face of a huge jump in new COVID cases across much of the country. Most schools are doing in-person classes, but some school districts are teaching remotely. The number of new cases reported in the U.S. last week hit an all-time high -- nearly half a million in one day. A CBS News poll, one year after January 6th, shows Americans expect more political violence. In Colorado, the search continues this morning for two people still missing after a massive wildfire destroyed neighborhoods in Boulder County.
