Episode 26: John McDaniel Wounded Warriors In Action
Retiring in 2007 as a Lieutenant Coronel after 20 years in the United States Army, Oshkosh Wisconsin native John McDaniel's time of service was just beginning. Seeing first hand the trauma that the war had inflicted on so many, the avid outdoorsman began sharing his love of hunting and fishing with those in need.
In 2009, Wounded Warriors In Action was formed to expand his mission. The 501c3 now serves over 200 Purple Heart Veterans across the country each year, offering connection and healing through the outdoors. Thanks to countless volunteers, hosts and donors from coast to coast, WWIA puts on events in 35 states, giving back to the men and women who have served our country.
HHAUSA is proud to be a link in the chain of Wounded Warriors In Action and there are several ways to get involved with this great organization. Whether you have property that could host an event, can contribute financially to help fund an experience or simply wish to volunteer your time, we can all serve in some way, honoring those who protect our freedoms.
