In State v. Steven Bookman, the New Jersey Supreme Court granted cert to address the issue of whether it is permissible for police officers to enter a third party home under the hot pursuit doctrine when they are chasing someone in an attempt to execute an Automated Traffic System warrant and the person flees.

Gabriel Garcia in which the New Jersey Supreme Court admonished a prosecutor for exploiting an evidentiary ruling favorable to the State, thereby presenting a false narrative during his closing argument.

Justice Albin sternly reminded all prosecutors that they are “required to turn square corners - because their overriding duty is to DO JUSTICE.”
