“NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!”
This week on The Blind Rage Podcast, it’s Wes Craven’s 1989 SHOCKER, a mess of a film he planned on remaking before his passing. Then again, it seemed he wanted to remake everything in his catalogue at one time or another.
With SHOCKER, though, it’s easy to see why. As many have criticized, it’s Craven’s painfully obvious attempt at recreating a Freddy Krueger-like villain, even incorporating dreams as one of the main plot devices. There’s also holes aplenty, many an inconsistency, and worst of all, it’s too damn long.
Admittedly, I do a fair bit of whining during the commentary, but when you’re as sleep-deprived as I was at the time of this recording, I might as well have been watching TITANIC.
