Marty Teller (@MWTeller) finally returned to the podcast to talk about all the latest rumors surrounding Ben Simmons and the Sixers. We talked about a ton of stuff including: Hawks wing/big John Collins to the Sixers, where local and national insiders are getting their information from during the Ben Simmons saga, and Tobias Harris possibly being on the move in addition to Ben. Marty gave us one important insight from his sit down lunch with Sixers POBO Daryl Morey that might show you how the Sixers are approaching this season and team building around Joel Embiid in general. We also dove into the concept of the Sixers taking upside swings on young talent like Kings guard Tyrese Haliburton, Hawks wing Cam Reddish and another young player that Marty thinks could be available at the trade deadline. Trill gave his list of “former stars” that could have a career resurgence with the Sixers similar to Demar Derozan’s return to relevance with the number one seed Chicago Bulls.
